After a year of starting this project (and then stopping it when I got too busy), I’m excited to share it with you. This shirt (that I’m sure you’ve seen from Free To Be Kids) is part of the inspiration (among many other things). It’s a photo series focusing on boys being themselves, doing things they love, and sharing (with me in an “interview throughout) about how they exemplify and see themselves as…
.
– kind
– respectful
– compassionate
– empathetic
– inclusive
– accepting
– cooperative
– A GOOD HUMAN
I think you get the idea. As a mother of boys (AND GIRLS), I want to focus my thoughts on raising the next generation of boys who will live beyond stereotypes and embody characteristics that make up a good human, that is responsible and considerate of the world around them. In my hope of hopes, these boys will help lead the way to share a wholeness of life that celebrates boyhood in all its forms while teaching and modeling compassion and equality for all.
Have a boy aged 5-18 that would like to be a part? E-mail me (jenny@jennysherouse.com) and we’ll set up a time to photograph and share his story. I’ll be posting images from this project every Friday on Instagram (@jennysherouse). Thanks so much for being a part of this with me!
